This food is not junk

I kind of have an obsession with kimchi… It is usually in my fridge or I just think about it all the time.

I am doing a little bit of a clean out with the kitchen cabinets… and look what I found! Kimchi flavored potato chips made by Lay’s in China!  Asians are really the most inventive with junk foods…

Tuesday after Monday

How do you deal with the Tuesday after a 3-day weekend?

I played Tetris on the DS last night until 3:30am… I am super tired. I woke up late. I got to work late. I didn’t have coffee this morning. But something came in the mail today which made everything better.

Put on your headphones…

Long time no see

3-day weekends are really amazing. If weekends are always 3-days, I think this world would be a better place. This is my first hour in front of the computer since Friday at 2pm. I don’t know how I did it, but it feels pretty awesome.

Weekend roundup:

  • Super-duper special visitors from the west coast and Boston! ^_^
  • Brooklyn Flea Market… saw 2 rusty dogs
  • A lot of sitting in the parks… Central Park and Fort Greene Park…
  • A lot of walking around… Brooklyn and downtown, mostly…
  • Corn on the cob
  • Replanted my shiso plants
  • Finished _The Alchemist_
  • Watched A LOT of Planet Earth

Hot Ride

bike.jpg

Summer is here and I wish I had a bike. Give me yours or sell it to me for cheap! I am into those bikes that all the hipsters ride. Serious offers only, please.
I can’t understand a word on this site but they have cool bikes for boys and girls.

Burgers & Mirrors

Cutting through big buildings in midtown is something that I really enjoy. You gotta get out of work early enough so that the buildings are still open, though. Sometimes you walk into some pretty amazing spaces.

This is from Le Parker Meridien hotel building on 57th, the same building where The Burger Joint is hidden. I love this cheesy mirror vestibule. It is like a poor man’s Olafur Eliasson experience.

Busy Busy Busy, I am.

But I have a story to tell…

My officemate Heather likes to buy things on Craigslist. She showed this one to me earlier this week. It is probably gone by now…

Quadratisch. Praktisch. Gut.

My officemate and I have been eating this bar of hazelnut Ritter Sport for the past week. We realized that it really is a good design for a chocolate bar. According to Wikipedia, the square shape idea belonged to the founder’s ex-wife “who wanted to create a chocolate bar that would fit into every jacket pocket without breaking.” That is pretty sweet.

Tasty website award of the day… Appealing and informative even in German!

I blog alot about Central Park.

I have been walking to and from work through the park everyday and it truly is the best and only great thing about working in midtown. The morning walk is usually rushed, but I like to take my time in the afternoon. I have been hanging out on Sheeps’ Meadow this week. The grass there is so fresh and new it feels like a big chilled carpet under my feet. I looked up and saw a gingko tree, my favorite kind of tree ever, with new full leaves. That made me really happy.

What would make me even happier is if I could hang out on the playground without having a kid.
