Changes
Lately, there has been alot of changes. The air is changing. The market is changing. People around me are changing. I am changing. So things places etc is changing, too…
What started out as a semi-anonymous things places etc blog will now become a more personal things places etc blog. I suppose this is also something that I’ve decided to end as I am leaving New York next Tuesday.
Next month, I am not going to renew this domain name www.thingsplacesetc.com for 3 reasons:
- it is kinda hard to spell and type “thingsplacesetc.com”
- I would like to post more personal entries to keep everyone updated with my new life in Beijing, China. My new blog space will simply be paulatsai.com/blog or something like that. I’ll keep you posted
- I have another secret www project. This will be something a little different and less structured than a blog… I don’t know what it is yet. But I got the domain already so you know it is coming.
Montauk Talk of the Town

This is about a month old… but I really wanted to post the photos from my trip to Montauk last month…
Oh man… what a nice trip…
Quitters. Winners. Beijing.
I just gave my 2-week notice here at Atmosphere BBDO.
Anyway… this is the official announcement that I am moving to Beijing, China next month after 3 years of being in New York. I will be attending the Central Academy of Fine Arts there while trying to make it as an artist. We’ll see how it goes.
So you know, Chinese things, places and etc coming soon.
3 commentsI got served. A burger.

I am not a big burger person, but sometimes a juicy burger can be pretty awesome. A juicy CHEESE burger. A juicy BACON (4 slices) CHEESEBURGER. With fries on the side, please. I like to go all the way with my burgers.
This is my dinner from last night at J.G. Melon, #14 on the 20-Burgers-You-Must-Eat-Before-You-Die list by GQ. Simple and satisfying.
1 commentLe Petit Matin Muy Expensive but Tasty and Stylish

I pass by this building on 7th and 58th on the way to work every morning. It is the Alwyn Court and it is one of my favorite buildings in midtown. I love the crazy carvings on the facade.
The Petrossian restaurant and bakery is also in the same building… I got a croissant from the bakery for breakfast yesterday morning and it was probably the best croissant I’ve ever had in North America. It was probably also the most expensive croissant ($3) I have ever purchased. But it was good and I was full all day until dinner time. So I guess something worked out.
Since my friend Edward never put his baked goods in the mail for me, I got 4 madeleines from here this morning for $7. Again, probably the most I have ever paid for madeleines but it was oh so delicious.
Yum. I need a bigger breakfast budget.
